Champagne – The Most Romantic Wine

The Fayetteville Wine Society is ready to start off 2010 with a bang. Or rather, a POP! We’ll pop the corks on a selection of fine Champagnes and Sparkling Wines to get you prepared for the most romantic day on the calendar, Valentine’s Day. What is it that makes a wine a Champagne? Are all sparkling wines considered Champagne? What grapes do they use and why? Why do people only drink Champagne on special occasions? What’s so special about this bubbly stuff anyway? We’ll have answers to all of those questions and more. A variety of styles, regions and producers will be represented to give an all-around look at the wonderful world of bubbly. This will be a truly special way to begin another great year for the FWS. We could not continue to bring you the finest wines available without the enthusiastic support of our members. We look forward to seeing you at ScrubOaks on February 8th.
As this is the first event of the year, we will begin accepting yearly dues at this event. The dues structures for both the Fayetteville Wine Society and the American Wine Society are outlined below. You can find more information on the AWS, our parent organization, here:

Important Membership Information! Please consider joining the Fayetteville Wine Society this year. Member dues are used to support monthly events and continue to bring you outstanding, hard-to-find wines each and every month, as well as to cover administrative costs. The Fayetteville Wine Society is an official chapter of the American Wine Society. As such, all members are required to join both organizations.
